We co-hosted the National Apprenticeship Week Business Apprenticeship Fair with the Howard County Office of Workforce Development. Over 100 attendees gathered to celebrate the impact of apprenticeships in shaping a skilled workforce and driving local business success.
The event highlighted the role of registered apprenticeship programs, with local employers sharing their experiences and successes. A special moment was the recognition of Apprenticeship Opportunity Program incentive awardees for their commitment to building opportunities through apprenticeships.

We are proud to highlight the incredible progress being made by our resident company, Health Tech Alley, through its dynamic apprenticeship program.
This talented team of apprentices has been hard at work using MIC’s state-of-the-art video studio on the 5th floor to produce product videos for another MIC resident, App Beacon. Known for its innovative mobile app platform, App Beacon empowers organizations with real-time solutions for custom branding, booking system redirects, personalized experiences and in-app features. By contributing to App Beacon’s video projects, apprentices are not only honing their skills but also directly impacting the success of a cutting-edge business. |

Health Tech Alley Celebrates National Apprenticeship Week with Data Science Success |

HealthTech Alley, a nonprofit based at the Maryland Innovation Center, is proud to celebrate National Apprenticeship Week by highlighting the success of its groundbreaking data science apprenticeship program. This initiative has already hosted five apprentices and is designed to equip participants with the skills and experience needed for careers in the rapidly growing health technology sector.
Supported by the Maryland Department of Education and Howard County Workforce Development, the program features a four-pronged approach that includes advanced data analytics training, hands-on learning, collaborative research projects, and an industry-recognized credential. Apprentices gain invaluable experience working with startups and nonprofits while addressing real-world challenges.
HealthTech Alley’s commitment to workforce innovation has earned recognition from the Howard County Executive, underscoring the program’s impact on the community and its role in preparing the next generation of skilled professionals. |
