Founded by Olaide and Dirmwa Ayegbusi, HIL Pharmacy offers a range of essential healthcare services, including immunizations, health screenings, customized medication solutions, and expert medical guidance. Strategically located within the Howard County Healthcare Campus, the pharmacy is positioned to serve more than 500 patients daily, working closely with local medical providers to ensure seamless, patient-centered care.

The HoCo Higher Growth Accelerator, set to launch soon, will provide structured support, mentorship, and funding opportunities to help former federal employees transition into successful entrepreneurs.


Attendees can also tour the Maryland Innovation Center, a hub for entrepreneurs, and connect with essential business resources like the SBA, SBDC, VBOC, and more.

On March 11, 2025, Howard County businesses in the construction and paving industries gathered for a morning of networking, learning and business development. Sponsored by Howard County Executive Calvin Ball and the Office of Procurement and Contract Administration, the event provided local contractors, suppliers and service providers with valuable insights into procurement opportunities, contracting processes and upcoming projects in the county.


Attendees had the opportunity to connect with key stakeholders and industry leaders, gaining a deeper understanding of how to navigate local business opportunities and position their companies for growth. This Women’s History Month, we’re spotlighting Queen Takes Book, Columbia’s beloved independent bookstore founded by Katie McNally. Built on the idea that reading can transform, inspire and connect, Queen Takes Book has become more than a bookstore—it’s a community hub for book lovers of all ages. 


With support from the HCEDA Catalyst Fund, Katie was able to turn her dream into a reality, securing the resources needed to open a welcoming space filled with carefully curated books, community events and a love for storytelling. From author signings to book clubs and children’s reading spaces, Queen Takes Book fosters a love of literature that brings people together.
