The Howard County Innovation Summit returned in 2026 with strong energy and even stronger ideas.
Leaders from technology, government, business, and education came together to explore bold solutions in Entrepreneurship, Healthcare, and Government Technology. The conversations were practical, forward focused, and grounded in real opportunity for our region.
Attendees moved between dynamic panels, interactive breakout sessions, and a vibrant vendor showcase that highlighted the depth of Howard County’s innovation ecosystem. The live pitch contest brought momentum to the room, giving emerging innovators a platform to showcase what they’re building and where they’re headed next.
Congratulations to KLEENUP, an MIC company, for taking first place in the Pitch competition. Their win reflects not only the strength of their solution, but the caliber of companies growing within our innovation community.
Our team participated in the Quantum and Entrepreneurship panel, contributing to the conversation on how advanced technologies are shaping new pathways for founders and companies. Throughout the day, we connected with attendees, shared resources, and highlighted programs and tools designed to support business growth in Howard County.

MIC Member Advantage: Smarter Fundraising with Better Data
You could spend hours piecing together investor intel from Google searches, LinkedIn rabbit holes, and half updated databases. Or you could log into PitchBook.
Through select membership tiers at the Maryland Innovation Center, members gain access to PitchBook, a powerful market intelligence platform that delivers real fundraising strategy. Want to see who is funding cybersecurity companies in Maryland? Curious what seed stage valuations look like right now? Need to know which funds just raised new capital or who backed your competitor and at what stage? It is all there.
Access to PitchBook is one of the ways MIC members sharpen their fundraising strategy, strengthen investor conversations, and make smarter, faster decisions. Data alone will not build your company. But the right data can absolutely accelerate it.
