2026 Disparity Study Provides Insights into Howard County’s Business Landscape

Howard County Government recently released the findings of its 2026 Disparity Study, conducted by MGT Consulting Group, to better understand how race, ethnicity, and gender may impact businesses’ ability to access opportunities in both the public and private sectors.

The study examined participation in Howard County’s marketplace, including access to capital, contracting opportunities, and the ability to compete for contracts and subcontracts.  Business owners, entrepreneurs, and community stakeholders are encouraged to review the final report, executive summary, and supporting appendices to learn more about the study’s findings and recommendations.

Focused on business continuity and resilience, the workshop is designed to help businesses prepare for unexpected disruptions with greater confidence and a clearer understanding of available recovery resources.

Powering Farm Resilience: TLV Tree Farm Strengthens Operations

TLV Tree Farm is strengthening its operations with support from the 2026 Howard County Agricultural Innovation Grant Program.

Located in Howard County, TLV Tree Farm received funding for a turkey facility generator project, helping ensure reliable power for livestock operations during outages and severe weather events. The investment will enhance animal welfare, improve operational resilience, and support the farm’s ability to maintain critical functions year-round.

Through the Agricultural Innovation Grant Program, Howard County continues supporting farms and agricultural businesses that are strengthening local food systems, improving operational capacity, and helping preserve a vibrant agricultural community for future generations.
