Howard County Breaks Ground on Future Charles C. Feaga Agricultural Center

We recently joined our agricultural community to break ground on the future Charles C. Feaga Agricultural Center, part of a $4.3 million County investment in planning, design and site development.

Shaped by input from local farmers and agricultural partners, the new center will serve as a hub for agricultural services, education and collaboration. Plans include a teaching and demonstration kitchen, modern meeting spaces and a home for key agricultural organizations serving our farming community.

Named in honor of lifelong farmer and agricultural advocate Charles C. Feaga, the center will help carry forward Howard County’s agricultural legacy while creating new opportunities for farmers, partners and future generations.

MIC Marketing Lab: Build an Offer That Sells and a Revenue Model That Lasts

Most founders build a great service and then bury it under vague pricing, unclear packaging, and a model that doesn't match how their customers actually buy. The result is a business that has to re-sell itself every single month. In this session, MIC Managing Director Pauline Shiu breaks down pricing strategy, offer design, and consumer buying behavior β€” so you can build an offer people say yes to and a revenue model that doesn't reset to zero every 30 days.

This is the next session of the MIC Marketing Lab, a monthly hands-on series pairing a core concept with real, applied work.

Howard County Farm Feature:

Fall Flavors Are Coming to Frank’s Produce & Greenhouses

A Howard County staple since 1975, Frank’s began as a roadside produce stand and has grown into a family-run open-air market and greenhouse operation in Elkridge. The family also farms properties in western Howard County, continuing the agricultural roots the business was built on.

As summer gives way to fall, Frank’s is a great local stop to make the seasonal transition. Along with fresh produce, its market carries locally sourced products including meats, honey, jams and other goods, while eight greenhouses offer plants and seasonal selections throughout the year.

Businesses like Frank’s help connect Howard County residents directly with local agriculture while keeping more of our spending within the community. And with apple cider back for the season, there’s a particularly good excuse to stop by.
